On Sunday morning my father-in-law was found unconscious with no heartbeat. He was resuscitated and is in critical condition. We are told his prognosis isn't good. We've been waiting and watching for signs of possible recovery.
Please pray for him and for our family as we watch, wait, and pray.

Hello blogging friends!
There is not much to tell from my world these days. I am not-so-patiently waiting for my back to keep healing so I can get back to our big make-over project. It is feeling quite a bit better, but I am now plagued with constant fear of injury. So I am being very tentative about what activities I do.
So, all this resting time mean lots of books read, right? Not so much. For some reason, I have hit a reading snag. I have about 4 books started, but am not into any of them. Not sure why except maybe because my mind is distracted with the things I need to do but can't right now.
So, I apologize for so few posts and hope that recovery from back pain also brings a recovery to all the things I recognize about myself that are hiding right now.

Yep, still out with a sore back. Started getting better and then re-injured it. Not good.
I never realized how hard it is to be in pain all the time. I'm kind of feeling sorry for myself over this.
In the meantime until it gets better, I apologize for being whiney and not a good blogger. Hard to blog when I'm being all mopey.

...understatement of the year, right? As anyone with back trouble knows, when that dreaded "pop" happens and you know you've hurt it again, there's a crazy sense of doom.
I hurt my back yesterday. For the past few days, I've been doing a complete decluttering of the basement and garage. Our plan is to make better use of the basement. We are moving my craft space in with my husband's office and the guest room and creating a "teen" hangout room in the other big room downstairs. That has meant finally addressing the excessive amounts of outgrown toys, unfinished crafts, old computers, outdated files, etc. Everything we've been putting downstairs to take care of "later" is now being addressed. So, I've been moving furntire, hauling books around, filling the van with trips to donate stuff...so, I should have been more careful. I tried to pick up a bag of trash that was heavier than I thought and "pop," the dreaded back issue.
Now I'm stuck. Have to rest for a few days. This is hard! We were supposed to paint the walls today and tomorrow in preparation for the furniture delivery at the end of the week. So, that's my day. Resting my back. Shopping online for stuff for the room. Hoping to be pain-free enough by tomorrow to get back to work. The girls are so excited and I can't wait to get back to work on the project for them.

My Thoughts:
While I enjoyed this book and really like the characters in it, there was a bit too much time spent "explaining things" more than having actual action. The characters had long discussions and I felt like that bogged things down a bit. There's a lot of things to explain, due to the complexities of demon possession and angel appearances. Overall though, it was an exciting suspense, that actually gives me pause...hard to read about things like demons everywhere who are really hard to stop, without feel a bit freaked out, you know? I look forward to the third book in the series.

This was a great book to read while my kids and their friends were enjoying the water park yesterday! I really enjoyed it and read it all in one sitting. Warren always delivers and this book is no exception. I was enchanted by the Christiansen family and am glad to see that it's going to be a series of books about the family. Can't wait to read the next one!
