Thanks for all the love and support you've shown me in the last few days as I've been dealing with my miscarriage.  Physically, it continues to be a battle to feel better.  Emotionally, it's a roller coaster.  But I feel your care and prayers and am grateful!

Loss

I have two amazing daughters who are 10 and 7.  We had debated on and off about a third baby and even got pregnant and miscarried a few years ago.  The loss was so hard.  Every baby and every pregnant woman I saw screamed at me and filled me with longing.  A week ago I found out I was pregnant again.  But I have miscarried again.  My heart aches with the loss and I cannot help but wonder why. But I will trust that God is with me and hurts with me.

This week's random dozen

Although this begins with a salute to the Olympics, you'll notice about half-way through these questions that I turn the corner and go off on another path as fast as a luge rounding a bend. Hence the name: Random.

1. If you could compete in one Olympic event (not necessarily winter sports) what would it be?

I would love to be a figure skater!  My daughter is a figure skater and it looks to beautiful and graceful!

2. Do remember a specific Olympic moment from the past?

I distinctly remember the match up between Brian Boitono and Brian Orser in figure skating. I remember the whole Nancy Kerrigan/Tanya Hardigan fiasco and Tanya's lose laces.

3. Have you ever known anyone who competed in the Olympics?

nope. but I grew up near Vancouver and am loving seeing all the familiar sights of Whistler, etc.

4. If everyday activities were Olympic-worthy, which activity would you have a gold medal in?

Reading! Or something with crafts! :)

5. Do you know anything about your ethnic heritage?

I am a Dutch girl through and through. My grandparents all came from the Netherlands.

6. Do you enjoy sleeping late?

I never sleep in. I can't seem to even when I want to. My brain is so busy in the morning, but so tired at night!

I'm not a very good traveler.  It feels like work to me to travel.  I like being home. :)  But, I would like to see Australia!
