a. Post a comment to the blog entries of the books you would like to win AND answer the question that goes with it.
I grew up picking berries to make money for college. I sat on my knees in between two rows of strawberries for the first 6 weeks of summer and rode on a "raspberry picking machine" and picked out bugs and leaves and rotten berries for the next 6 weeks. I started at age 7 and spent every summer on that until I was 17. 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, rain or shine. Crazy! Did you ever do any "crazy" jobs? What were they?
b. Enter on or before the date specified. Claim your prize, if you win, within 10 days of being notified or I will redraw. (In other words, let me know you want the book and where it should be sent, should you find out your name was drawn.)
Today's book winner will be drawn on Nov. 20.

"Harvest" is today's fall word. The book is Be Sweet by Diann Hunt. In this book Hunt is writing about a maple harvest.
Back home in Michigan for maple syrup season, commercial realtor Charlene jumps in to help her sister, Janni, and family with the flavorful harvest. But as Char's old flame tries to reignite a relationship and it becomes clear that Janni is hiding a secret, can the two sisters rally to face this midlife crisis together?
My Review (originally posted earlier):
I enjoyed this "sweet" book and think it's a fun read! Char is a fun and down-to-earth character who is contending with a painful divorce, living up to a perfect "Martha Stewart" sister, the gossips from her hometown telling tales of her ex-husband's affair, and the frustration of feeling like she hasn't lived up to her parents' expectations. Now she's come back home to help her sister Janni with their maple harvest and to plan a surprise party for her parents' anniversary. Coming back to her small hometown brings her back to some painful memories. Also, her mom is having crazy thoughts and her sister is having a midlife crisis of sorts. Throw in Char's ability to get herself in crazy situations like falling out of a tree and spilling sap on herself, and you get the funny and tender story of family and forgiveness with some laughter thrown in.
A very funny book about two sisters who are experiencing the fears and insecurities of midlife--looking back on past mistakes, wondering if they are living the life they were meant to, and making choices for their future. Diann Hunt always makes me laugh!
