a. Post a comment to the blog entries of the books you would like to win AND answer the question that goes with it. There will be one summer word giveaway at a time.
Today's Question: Today's theme is "crazy reality shows." I have to admit that there are some that I have been watching this summer. If I admit to mine, you have to admit to yours--if you watch any. Here are the ones I've been watching this summer: "Project Runway," "Shear Genius," "The Mole," and "Design Star." I also try to catch "Amazing Race" and "Survivor" when they are one. Now it's your turn, what reality shows (if any) do you watch?
b. Enter on or before the date specified. Today's book winner will be drawn on August 14.
c. Check back for the next summer theme word giveaway!

My Review:
I read this book really fast. Why? Because I really liked it! What's not to like? A cool premise, a great character in Jack, a secret to be revealed, and lots of action. It's like a behind-the-scenes look at Survivor from a contestant's point of view. I hadn't really heard much about this book, but I was pleasantly surprised and really devoured it.
Jack is a well-rounded character with moral principles, a job on the line over his Christian beliefs, and a possible budding romance. He gets thrown into a reality show where his beliefs will get tested, his physical stamina challenged, and his emotional stability rocked. I really liked Jack and was cheering for him throughout in the same way I cheer for my favorite "nice guys" on the reality shows I watch. And this reality show has enough twists and turns to make "Survivor" look tame. Plus, on the home front, Jack's new possible romantic interest is the Vice Principal at the school at which he coaches. She is fighting for his job while he is in the midst of his reality show challenges. His job is on the line for the Christian beliefs he expressed to a student outside of the school setting. The parents want him to make a new statement, but Jack refuses to go against his faith. Plus when Jack's mom discovers more about the reality show Jack is on and sees a familiar name as the producer of the show, she is afraid for Jack and the possible motive the producer may have for choosing Jack.
Great book! Just when you think you've got it figured out, there's another twist!
