I got a chance to read an early copy of this exciting book and I wanted to share it with you!
Description:
Charlie Madison is a burned out Special Forces Agent and his world is about to be turned upside down. When his 13-year-old niece barges into his reclusive life, Charlie must come out of retirement to rescue her parents and a computer Program that has recorded the actual Voice of God--the implications of which have shaken the world's religions to their core. Together, with the help of the attractive and mysterious Lisa Harmon, Charlie and his niece circle the globe, tracking down the religious radicals who have kidnapped his sister and brother-in-law. But, there is far more at stake than the safety of the parents or even religion. If the Voice of God created reality, It can destroy it. If controlled, It would become a weapon of mass destruction making all others obsolete. Soon the trio not only fights against various religious powers, but major governments as well . . . until the Program is discovered and played back with unimaginable results.
My Thoughts:
The action kicks into high gear immediately and never lets up until the end of the book. Parts of the book grabbed and had me turning the pages as fast as I could. The idea of coming up with a program that could prove the existence of God by playing his voice, is a captivating one and the ramifications of using sound frequencies to heal people, make people sick, or erase their memories is frightening. All of which made for a good plot.
The character of Jaz was my favorite. She is quirky and spirited and doesn't let her deafness keep her from being a "normal" teenage girl. Charlie is a shell of a man, and rightly so, after losing his wife and daughter in a brutal murder. Lisa fights against her own demons from her past as well, though they could have been fleshed out a bit more.
This is a very interesting book and a good read when you are looking to experience lots of action. The action is strong and the best part of the book and will bring the reader on car chases, gun fights, and prison breaks. And there are definately days when all I want to do is jump into a book and hang on for dear life while the action carries me away. This is the book for those kind of days!
I give it my mostly sunny rating.
