What decorating colors do you remember from your childhood that frighten you now? One time we moved into a house that had maroon carpet and wood paneling on the walls - it was sooooo dark. We replaced the carpet as soon as we could.

Pale purple: I loved it as a kid, and so my mom painted the walls and the (cement) floor pale purple. She made me a slightly darker blanket and curtains to match. My sister hated it, but I loved it... then!
