Extra giveaway of "Experiencing the Resurrection" by Henry and Melvin Blackaby

THIS giveaway is now closed.

Experiencingresur I was given 2 copies of this wonderful book, Experiencing the Resurrection by Henry and Melvin Blackaby, to give away on my blog!  I'd love for you to have it by Easter if possible so I'm going to set the drawing for tomorrow at noon central time already.  So sign up fast to win it!  It is a wonderful walk through the death and resurrection of Jesus, why he had to die and rise from the dead and what it means for us today.  A beautiful reminder for this week!

Here's a description:

Are you settling for the ordinary? Embrace the power of the resurrection and experience the risen Christ in each step of your daily walk! Celebrating the most pivotal event in human history, the Blackabys explore the resurrection in the heart and mind of God; Jesus' life; and in the peace, joy, purpose, and hope believers enjoy.

More about the book:

Two thousand years ago, God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. But that isn’t a mere historical event. It isn’t simply a theological doctrine. It is rather a “huge moment” that reverberates powerfully and meaningfully throughout history. Even today. Even in your life.

When God raised Jesus, He also made it possible for Christ’s life to reign eternally in His followers. The resurrection is the foundation of your total freedom and complete victory in Christ. And so it is an event–an experience–that’s worthy of your daily celebration.

Experiencing the Resurrection is the second in a groundbreaking trilogy by the world-renowned spiritual leader Dr. Henry Blackaby and his son, Dr. Melvin Blackaby, that guides you into experiencing the gospel of Christ in its fullness. In this book they offer you a deeper understanding of the glorious, joyous dimensions of the resurrection, with the goal of revealing the living Lord at work in your daily life.

This is the first step to fully knowing and experiencing the peace, joy, power, purpose, and confidence that God promises you through the resurrection of His Son.

My thoughts: a good gift for a new believer and an excellent reminder for us all.  While many of us accept the death and resurrection, we are not as good as living out what it means for us in our lives day to day. My favorite part was the last half where you are challenged to personally experience the peace, joy, power, authority, confidence, and hope that the resurrection brings to our lives.

Post a comment by noon tomorrow (March 19) to win!

Why Tree Swing Reading?

  • I named my blog Tree Swing Reading because my favorite place to read is under the tree in our yard in the yard swing...of course the weather has to be perfect: warm but not hot, a nice breeze, no bugs, no humidity...so you see, it may be my favorite, but it doesn't happen as often as I like!

My Mission with this blog

  • It is my mission with this blog to introduce others to Christian fiction and all the things that reading a story can teach us about faith, hope, peace, love, and our Lord. Afterall, Jesus Himself often used stories to give powerful lessons. I tend to lean more toward the chicklit and suspense genres in Christian fiction and am working toward being well read in those areas.
